to be fair, some people probably do need to check with their husband. but in our experience 100 out of 100 times we hear this line the client never calls us back. they ignore the stink or hire the guy working out of the back of his trunk and that's okay with us. we want people who know a value and who will stay with us long term. the bargain shopper, lookie-loos make poor clients because the next time they see a $4.95 a room cleaning they fall for that guys lines too.

I've had people tell me, "if you can guarantee this carpet will look new you can have the job. I absolutely can do that. you just have to rip out the old and put in new.

We got a call today about some carpet cleaning in a basement in Glen Ellyn,

there was so much pee he thought I was making it up. but he saw it with his own eyes.

"we'll have to think about it and get back to you," which loosely translates into ,"you're too expensive and we will shop around for someone to do this job cheaper." we hate to lose a job but even worse was what they will find out the hard way when they go cheap. the guy didn't do the job right and now they get to spend even more money. not with me of course because they'll be too embarrassed to admit they chose poorly.
