a client's son had just gotten his first real job after graduation. it was far away and he had no furniture so his dad went to an estate sale. a man died of lung cancer. he was a big time smoker.
the couch and loveseat were yellowish black from all the tar and soot and smoke of 40 years of smoking. I thought maybe he should burn them but he'd probably end up in the hospital from tar smoke ingestion so we gave it a go.
I whipped up some special sauce, worked it into the fibers after vacuuming, then reapplied it several more times, allowing dwell time.
