Five pound bag of fun

I was carpet cleaning in Lombard yesterday when I brought out my bag of fun and added to it. My bag of fun is something no other cleaner has. It’s a recycled garbage bag filled with dirt. The dirt comes from the carpets I just cleaned.

See, your carpets hold and trap dirt, dust mites, allergens, and dry particulate. Your regular vacuuming only takes out so much of it. The rest stays in there grinding away at your precious fibers wearing them away to useless junk. It’s a lot easier to do carpet cleaning in Lombard if I remove the dry soil first instead of turning it mud and then trying to extract the mud.

We use Oreck and Dyson vacuums on every job. Some of the most powerful units ever made. The Dyson is especially nice because it has a quick release dirt cup canister. We then take that dirt, usually two or three pounds per house when we’re carpet cleaning Lombard and empty it into my fun bag. This is a final filter that traps and holds even more soil removed during the cleaning process. It’s a mesh liner that goes into a clear plastic filter housing. There is almost always another three to four pounds of wet lint, soil, gravel and dirt in the mesh lining. We take that stuff out and put it in the fun bag as well. When the bag gets full we throw it out and start over again. Using recycled bag is not only cheaper than using new bags, it’s better for the environment and the planet as well.

So, on a typical day, we add ten to thirty pounds of dry and wet soil to our fun bags on the trucks. That’s thirty pounds of soil no longer in your carpets. No longer grinding and cutting away at your home’s biggest filter, your wall to wall and area rugs.
